Hi, I’m Derrick McKay, founder and operator of Sound Solutions.
Sound Solutions was born in May 2013 out of a simple idea: connect talented entertainers with the people who want to hear them.
As a working musician myself, I was constantly getting gig requests I couldn’t take on
because my schedule was full. So I decided to create a solution—not just for me, but for the entire music community.
For over 35 years, I’ve been part of the Cayman Islands music scene, performing on stage and mastering the art of sound and lighting production.
I’ve shared the stage with legends like The Drifters (with the original frontman), Marty Balin from Jefferson Airplane, Goo Goo Dolls, UB40,Tanya Tucker, and Tragically Hip. Behind the scenes, I’ve worked on festivals and corporate shows featuring UB40, Black Eyed Peas, Counting
Crows, Sarah Bareilles, Ziggy Marley, Damian Marley, Michael Bolton,Richard Marx, and many more.
Sound Solutions exists to showcase the incredible talent in our community while making it easy for clients to find exactly what they need. Our goal is
simple: a one-stop shop that takes the stress out of booking live entertainment, while giving our artists the platform they deserve.
